How are your cases manufactured in a digital workflow?
The constant development in dental technology helps promote the collaboration between dental practices and labs. More and more clinics recognize its great benefits and apply cutting-edge equipment such as intraoral scanners in treatment. However, the specific production line of manufacturing digital cases is not accessible to everyone.
This article will show the standard digital workflow in the VTA dental lab, which is one of the leading partners for nationwide dental clinics.
The advantage of digital workflow in dentistry
Digital workflow not only erased the space distance that invisibly separated dentists and technicians in the common ideal of bringing the best restorations for patients but also brought a lot of advantages for dental practices.
First of all, digitally-equipped offices will improve the customer’s experience, which is a brilliant plus, and enhance the accuracy in making an impression thanks to the intraoral scanner system. Correspondingly, the finished restoration can match the satisfactory compatibility and quality in the patient’s oral cavity as well as possible.
Additionally, the turnaround time will be significantly reduced because dentists just send scanning files within one minute and wait for one-way shipping rather than the two-way process.
Moreover, digital dentistry applications also cement the collaboration between dentists and dental technicians so that the production line in the lab is optimized while arising problems in manufacturing can be almost dealt with immediately.
The digital workflow in the VTA dental lab
As one of the forefront in digital dentistry, VTA is always ahead of the curve by investing in cutting-edge technology and updating the latest trends to be the prestigious partner of nationwide dentists in the USA.
Our digital workflow is a professional process that is continuously studied, assessed, and innovated to match the market demands.
1. Doctor sending files
The first stage is sending scanning files. The dentist will take the patient’s impression with the intraoral scanner and send the scanning file to the dental lab.
2. Lab design
The next stage is designing. The 3D Design Center in the VTA dental lab with hundreds of experts and technicians will extract the digital files to design models and crowns.
We also own exclusive techniques, experienced experts, and modern software such as 3Shape and Exocad to allow us to work in almost scanning file systems.
3. 3D Printing
The synchronous Heygear 3D Printer is one of the leading advantages in VTA because it brings high accuracy and productivity for printing models. Additionally, investment in the in-house 3D printing center also helps our lab maximize production time and ensure quality.
4. Milling and Sintering
VTA Lab has a large-scale milling center where we gather cutting-edge machine lines in the market, for example, Imes-Icore i250, i350, i350 Pro, and Aidite. Therefore, we can take their separate advantages in manufacturing.
We also use HTS-2/M/Zirkon-120 from MIHM-VOGT GmbH, a long-lasting material provider in Germany.
5. Crown finishing
Crown finishing is the prominent stage that helps demonstrate the craftsmanship and dedication of the technician team in VTA.
Along with investing in digital technology, VTA Lab also attaches importance to technician’s skills and qualifications. Every one of our technicians meticulously crafts from the intaglio to the occlusal so that each restoration reaches flawless aesthetics and quality. It is because we are aware that, more than anyone else, we not only merely fabricate crowns but also contribute to bringing radiant smiles and priceless joy to patients.
6. Final QC
Quality is the final stage in the manufacturing process and the number-one priority contributing to the core values of VTA Dental Lab.
This department converges leading experts, who have profound knowledge trained by internationally prestigious organizations, for example, Bredent, Straumann, GC, Noritake, etc., and practical experience accumulated through decades of dedication and continuous research.
They will comprehensively check the quality of the finished product from tooth color, gradience, bite, intaglio, occlusal, and margin to ensure each outgoing case will reach the best quality and compatibility with the patient’s oral cavity.
